IT PERFORMED VERY WELL WITHOUT GETTING OVERHEATED FOE EXTENDED USE. AS A PROFESSIONAL CABINET MAKER FOR OVER 50 YEARS, I FIND THIS PACK A LIFE SAVER FOR INSTALLATION AS WELL AS AT THE SHOP, I'VE HAD A 12.0 VOLT MKITA IMPACT DRIVER, AND IT WAS MORE THAN ENOUGH POWER. BUT THE 14.4 WOW THAT'S MORE THAN I'LL EVER NEED. THE PRICE CAN'T BE BEAT, AND THE LIGHT, WHEN I CRAWL INSIDE A CABINET. IT'S FANTASTIC TO SEE EVERYTHING.IN ALL EXCELLENT PRODUCT, AND RELIABLE TOO.
This is a great combo. The impact driver is a must and this is the best battery powered work light I've used. It puts out a lot of light and is way better that the flashlight type lights. I've pushed the impact driver way harder than it's probably intended but it's still going strong.
More power then my 19.2 Sears and I like my Sears I own 4 of them.This was an impulse purchase, I'm glad I did it the tools are a great balance between power & handling and are becoming my go to tools.I've been working with & buying power tools for nearly 50 years, some have been much better then others, these Makita's seem to be in the better category. Normally I like corded over cordless for the power but these are working out quite well.
I bought this unit becasue I already had the same battery for an old drill, and with this new kit, I now have two drills and a driver. this was, and is still, a very bad thing, and hurt my overall view of the makita line of tools, which I had come to trust. having the impact driver for remote assembly of tables, benches, etc was great. the impact drive and drill have already been great. I am sure there is a thing i have to mail, etc, but i am right now too busy to deal with running to the UPS, writng up anything. when i was in the dark basement installing wiring to hook up the generator i lost light several times as I tried to toggle the push button switch.
this light was the mainstay item of survival, and the "On/Off" seitch on the light became unreliable, and thelight would go off randomly.
All work great.however, the light has become a problem.
so what I am left with, is how do i get service.
We host a "Thanksgiving in the Woods here on the farm and this event for 90 people is 1/2 mile from the house under a grove of hemlock trees.
Probably a 25 cent item that could be fixed esily.
last week, we in new england had a major ice storm and we were without power here on the farm for about a week.
flashlights were a critical item, as well as generators, and more.
I would have bought this at a local big box store, but this is an item they no longer carry.
I only did this on-line now as part of clean-up of e-amils, need to run.Still have an untrustowrthy light standing on the floor next to my desk.R
